NoteScribe turns your notes, whiteboards, and conversations into clear, structured summaries — entirely on your device.
NoteScribe gives you four ways to capture content. Everything is processed on your device.
Once you have content, NoteScribe can process it with on-device tools:
Apple Intelligence features require an Apple Intelligence-capable device running iOS 26 or later.
The AI summary and recap-email features run on Apple Intelligence, which is only available on Apple Intelligence-capable devices running iOS 26 or later. If your device doesn't support Apple Intelligence — or Apple Intelligence is turned off, or the on-device models are still downloading — the summary feature will appear dimmed or marked unavailable.
The rest of the app still works on every iOS 26 device. You can scan, paste, record, transcribe, and keep your notes as a transcript-first notebook. When you move to a capable device (or enable Apple Intelligence in Settings), the summary and email features light up automatically.
If you have a capable device and Apple Intelligence is simply switched off or finishing its first download, NoteScribe will point you to the right place in Settings.
Yes. NoteScribe is built to be private by design:
NoteScribe only sends your notes to your own private iCloud (see backup, below), and only if you sign in with Apple (or, for guest notes, only if you choose to back them up when asked). That copy lives in your personal iCloud account — we never have access to it. Audio recordings are never synced or uploaded by NoteScribe. Anything you share, email, or add to Reminders goes only where you send it.
Backup uses your own private iCloud account through Apple's CloudKit — not our servers.
You can check the current state in the app: it shows "iCloud backup on" when you're signed in with Apple, or "History on this device only" otherwise. Signing out hides the iCloud library from this device; your guest notes stay local.
Note: audio recordings are stored locally on your device and are not part of the iCloud history mirror.
NoteScribe includes in-app account deletion. It permanently removes:
This cannot be undone. If iCloud can't be reached, NoteScribe tells you and lets you retry. If you continue without iCloud, it explains that copies may remain and how to remove them: Settings → Apple Account → iCloud → Manage Storage → NoteScribe. Any such copy lives only in your own iCloud account, never on a developer server.
Deleting your account does not cancel a subscription. Billing continues through Apple until you cancel; use the Manage Subscription button in the app. A small counter of free notes used stays in the device Keychain on purpose, to enforce the free tier; it contains no note content.
If you signed in with Apple, you can also separately stop using your Apple ID with NoteScribe at any time in Settings → your name → Sign in with Apple → NoteScribe → Stop Using Sign in with Apple.
When NoteScribe generates action items, you can send the open ones to Apple Reminders — but only when you explicitly tap to do so. NoteScribe never adds reminders on its own.
NoteScribe only requests what a feature needs, and only when you use it:
